Codemasters today announced that the portable version of its next-gen racing title, Race Driver: Grid, will be available on the Nintendo DS as of this Friday, August 8.

“The Nintendo DS edition of the game has been specifically designed for the handheld and offers the most complete pick-up-and-play pocket racing package,” boasts Codemasters.

“Players can take inspiration from competing in the world’s most exciting racing cars on legendary circuits and iconic city streets and then get creative with the most powerful track editor in portable gaming.”

As well as the aforementioned track editor, GRID promises “extensive online and multiplayer options” that include four-player races, online leader boards, and Internet-powered sharing of custom tracks.
